Why do they never get it? This maps perfectly on to Labour and antisemitism. The first response should be shocked introspection about why a member of an ethnic minority has come to think this. But no. Just denial and belligerence, every time.https://twitter.com/ConorBurnsUK/status/1117362387311579136 …

I used to have regard for David Lammy. But this is batshit. Comparing ERG to Hitler is quite something. Fully lost it.

It’s as though he (Burns) has forgotten that Hitler wasn’t always the Hitler of the Holocaust. His loathing became loathing of specific ‘others’ and grew from there. I’ve found some of David Lammy’s speeches bombasitc and hyperbolic. These comments I do not.

You're wrong. Hitler was always the Hitler of the Holocaust. He was always anti-semitic. He always loathed Jews as his early writings showed. To compare JRM, IDS or any of the ERG to Hitler and the Nazis is exactly what @ConorBurnsUK said. Batshit crazy, and I'd say libelous.

Even if it is hyperbole, the wise and moral response of the ERG is to ask itself what it does that moves Lammy to speak in this way. Sadness, shock, a desire to fix it are all appropriate. Not ridicule and denial.

So if someone makes up a nasty claim about you, you’re supposed to ask what you did wrong to make them say that? Er... maybe the person making the nasty claim is just nasty.

First of all, detach. Look at yourself. Try and be humble. Then consider Mogg’s vision - “The Singapore of the North”, India’s environmental standards “perfectly acceptable” etc. This world can only be built on exploitation, and inequality. BAME are the first to suffer injustice

Erm Singapore has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world, some of the best public services and one of the top GDP figures per head in the world outside the rich Arab oil states due to low taxes and free trade. Yeah let's not be like Singapore.

The Singapore model won’t work here. It’s a chimaera. We can’t even find indigenous workers to pick our fruit, or serve food. If you agree to State imposed dictats and less rights then fine!

That is because we have allowed a benefits culture to take over and people can choose to only work 16 hours and have their wages topped up by other taxpayers whilst sitting on their ass.
