Why do they never get it? This maps perfectly on to Labour and antisemitism. The first response should be shocked introspection about why a member of an ethnic minority has come to think this. But no. Just denial and belligerence, every time.https://twitter.com/ConorBurnsUK/status/1117362387311579136 …

Er, yes. If somebody has a problem with something you say or do, you should indeed have a think about whether they might be right before deciding they aren't. Quite arrogant not to.
-
I mean are you literally Jeremy Corbyn or what?
-
How does this always come back to
@jeremycorbyn? Obsessed much? -
Someone finally called out the fascists on mass media and they're all going "boo hoo hoo". Get back to your safe places you snowflakes.

Introspection really isn’t your thing is it Julia
-
I’m just not afflicted by self doubt, or misplaced middle class guilt or white guilt. Sorry.
-
Self-doubt is not an affliction. It is the only rational and self-aware state of being.
-
Have you any feelings of self doubt that your perspective on this issue may be wrong Hugo?
-
Lots! Tho I think the main problem is Twitter's inability to comprehend arguments that aren't just "this is right" or "this is wrong".
-
In general perhaps I think that may be right, but this issue is pretty binary. David Lammy said that the ERG are worse than Hitler. There is no level on which that statement is, or could be construed as, correct. Are the ERG unpleasant? Clearly. Worse than Hitler? Come on.
-
I don't think he was right, as I've said a few times now.
-
Fair enough, I'd missed that, and just saw this thread where you seemed to indicate that the people whom he had just defamed are the ones who have some introspection to do. Don't get me wrong, the ERG are arseholes, and I detest them all, but Lammy needs to apologise.

First of all, detach. Look at yourself. Try and be humble. Then consider Mogg’s vision - “The Singapore of the North”, India’s environmental standards “perfectly acceptable” etc. This world can only be built on exploitation, and inequality. BAME are the first to suffer injustice
-
Good grief. Get a grip, man.
-
Erm Singapore has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world, some of the best public services and one of the top GDP figures per head in the world outside the rich Arab oil states due to low taxes and free trade. Yeah let's not be like Singapore.
-
The Singapore model won’t work here. It’s a chimaera. We can’t even find indigenous workers to pick our fruit, or serve food. If you agree to State imposed dictats and less rights then fine!
-
That is because we have allowed a benefits culture to take over and people can choose to only work 16 hours and have their wages topped up by other taxpayers whilst sitting on their ass.
-
If only we could stop people having kids and caring responsibilities they could stay in work then...I know let’s just get rid of all jobs you can’t live off the wages and get rid of all those people who do them bloody scrounging ..
