Things Remainers don’t understand: You can be posh & go to public school but still be anti-Establishment, just as you can be working class but still be pro-Establishment. Sometimes it’s almost as if Tony Benn (Westminster & Oxford, aka Viscount Stansgate) never existed...

Ditto. Our Oxbridge members voted Leave. Our public schoolars preferred Remain. (Funnily, our Oxbridgers attended state schools).
-
This doesn't surprise me, the upper class often have a great cultural affinity with the working class than with the aspirational middle class. I've known plenty of Toffs who read the Sun.
-
They’re probably not ‘toffs’ if they read the sun. More likely pretentious or maybe nouveau riche rather than posh. Money can’t buy class.
-
Pretentious people don't read the Sun, they read the Guardian
-
I agree. But my point is that pretentious people are often masking who they really are. So while they might read the guardian to impress fellow pretentious left wing morons, they come from sun reading families. (Posh families mainly read the times & telegraph!!)
