So sad that such a great man as Richard Dawkins is just waiting to die.https://twitter.com/RichardDawkins/status/1115961415708311552 …

9 month delay? The longer the better. More time for young voters (who have to live with the consequences) to come of age. More time for Leave voters to drop off their nostalgic perch. More time for Tory party to destroy itself. And for 2-party system to destroy itself.

Thing is, those young voters are all getting older. With age comes experience. With experience you come to realise what the EU is, does, and costs. Also with experience, you realise that nobody owes you anything, you have to work for everything, and socialism costs you a fortune

don't understand this train of thought. young people die too, plus all young people didn't vote remain,( arrogant to think all young want the EU ) they are not sheep hopefully and see things for themselves and more than the spin of both sides

Does not Dawkins realise that as voters get older they lean further to the right. Those that die just get replaced by similar.

One of our great rationalists, who loses all reason when discussing Brexit ...

No, he is as rational when it comes to Brexit as he is everything else, hence why he is so against it. All available evidence points to Brexit being a disaster, and as a scientist, he follows the evidence. Simple.

We keep the £39b, we are able to make our own laws, control immigration, and make free trade deals with every other country. Sounds like a good deal to me.

And that is a very simplistic, one sided viewpoint. You have to consider ALL evidence when making a rational decision. Something you have not done, but Dawkins has.

Like Grayling, Dawkins has thrown a hissy fit, because he can’t believe ordinary people are capable of rational thought. It’s a form of intellectual snobbery.

You really couldn't be more wrong. Nothing about Brexit is "rational". The campaign to leave was based on emotive imagery, stoking fears about immigration. On a purely rational basis, Brexit is insane.

The EU is a corrupt, wasteful, undemocratic organisation, which will soon be consigned to the dustbin of history.
