This is a mad idea & it probably won’t ever catch on but I’m going to throw this out here anyway.
Just imagine how happy we’d all be and how productive our nation would be if everyone just did the job they are paid to do and did it well.

Given you are an alumnus of Magdalen you would have known you wouldn't be doing a mundane and badly paid job forever. When people are struggling to make ends meet and maybe have a family to bring up, knowing your lot is a badly paid and tedious job is hardly motivating.

She wouldn't know... she might have believed and that power of belief is as you imply a powerful motivator. Constantly telling people that they cannot achieve has the opposite effect.

Lots of people in this country ascribe their success to their own hard work & ability when in reality family background & often privileged education are more important factors - I offer

Yes but you may think you’re doing a good job but nowhere near as good as someone else can do it, I’ve seen it for myself with my Jan, nobody can do a better job than her at what she does.
