Ooh! Ooh! I think I know this one! Is it “Actually delivering Brexit as voted for by the British people”?https://twitter.com/BBCPolitics/status/1113434930216935424 …

It said about not being a member of the EU. Nothing about severing all ties and having no economic ties to our closest neighbours. And it was, of course, non binding.pic.twitter.com/0OgCJbbzrl

Yes, it did, didn't it. But how do you know what flavor of Brexit those 17.4m were voting for? I'm no fan of Corbyn, but some of them were voting for his version of Brexit. He did quite well in the 2017 GE, don't you think?

So, if the flavour of leave we actually do isn't to your liking, you'll be happy with that? Customs Union & Single Market both mean we'll no longer be members of the EU. So you'll be happy with that. Keeping free movement of workers - you'll be happy with that too?

That is one great thread.

The ballot could just as easily have said fly to the moon tomorrow, but without anyway of actually delivering on it, all rather pointless.
-
So are you saying as a country and I am not talking MPs here as i think this has taught us they are a waste of space, there is no way we can leave the EU or indeed want to leave the EU because its not deliverable, are we really that useless ?.
-
Mays deal removes us from the political union with the EU, BUT it's so far removed from the expectations of people who want to leave, because they were promised unicorns and have got a donkey in a party hat.
-
Not sure they were promises, the leave side put forward possible out comes the remain side did the same and we made a choice, I am still waiting to find out what the remain deal is. what is the EU end game? or should we not worry about that ?
-
Rich like Norway. Trade deal over cups of tea. Easiest deal, in history. They need us more than we need them, we'll get a good deal. German car industry. Prosecco. The big red bus. Remain is remain.
-
Every family worse off by £4300, A Punishment budget, the loss of 500,000 jobs, the IMF claimed we would go into recession, I could go on and this is if we just voted to leave.
-
I agree. It was ridiculous. Well over the top. But Mark carney also took preventative action to stop it from happening. Its much more Likely to happen once we've left. 1 trillion in assets has or will be leaving London due to brexit already.https://www.ey.com/uk/en/newsroom/news-releases/190320-fs-brexit-tracker …
-
This is the way these debates go, people, me included bring up facts and figures related to the economy scoring points when in reality its more than just how well our economy is doing, its who ultimately governs our country, as I said in my first tweet, what is the EU end game ?.

It did. And it won.
-
What version of Brexit won? Do you think 17.4m people were all voting for your version of Brexit? Have you not been paying attention for the last 3 years? I'd be pretty sure Corbyn was one of those 17.4m.
-
It was a binary question wasn't it?
-
Yep. Maybe we should avoid binary questions on complex issues in referendum in future.
-
Did you vote?
-
Me? I voted remain, but the morning after I was fine with the concept of a typical British compromise - ie a soft Brexit. Plenty of people who voted leave were likely thinking the same thing. Problem is Brexit had been hijacked by r-wing nutters since then.
-
But you did lose that vote?
-
If you think I'm David Cameron in disguise I'm sorry to disappoint you.
