Yeah it would be unlike a member of the government to lie in the current climate wouldn’t it?!

No, he said he was "confident that there won't be" shortages whilst conceding that "there's still a lot of work to be done" - how's that coming along? Confidence is no substitute for facts.
-
He also pointed out that even IF medical supplies are unaffected it will be because they are "prioritised over food imports". Sunny uplands eh?

Pharmaceutical Companies have a business to run. It’s not part of their business model to exclude the UK any time soon. I guarantee it.

A lot of Cancer drugs we used are solely m’factured in Holland. We leave on ‘No Deal’ terms=goods have to be checked at Dutch customs. These drugs have a v.short shelf life, so any delay is bad. It’s the Same with certain types of insulin for type 1 diabetes.

Because supply of medicine is governed by strict regulatory rules. If something is missing medicine isn’t shipped. It’s not like rocking up to a radio studio and bullshitting into a microphone.

I'd suggest any non-medical professional claiming proudly "there will be no shortage of medicines post-brexit" to have a long hard look at this graph & think where abouts on it they may currently sitpic.twitter.com/qbjJM5WJRe
-
I'd suggest anyone playing on the fears of the sick and peddling hysteria should be ashamed.
-
I'd suggest anyone jeopardising the day to day running of the health service for no discernible benefit should be ashamed of themselves. I'd also suggest non medically trained people don't get to tell medically trained people what counts as hysteria when it comes to medicine
-
That's just like saying if you're not a mechanic you can't possibly know if there will be a shortage of car parts.
-
It really really isn't. Might be worth a longer look at the graph. It's called the Dunning Kruger effectpic.twitter.com/VxKPyyDrM3
-
OK, on that graph I'm at a point marked 'my sibling is clinical director of my local NHS Trust.'
-
Without wanting to labour the point, that would place you in the 'small amount of superficial knowledge, high amount of confidence' region
-
Dream on.
