As an academic I know you prioritise evidence Almost every study we now have on the Brexit vote shows that (1) wanting a return of sovereignty and/or judicial independence & (2) to end free movement were the two major drivers, both of which have everything to do with the EUhttps://twitter.com/ProfBrianCox/status/1107250916523196417 …

Not really worth reading
-
No, not worth reading. Can anyone explain to me why academics can be as dumb as a brick when it comes to real world issues?
-
I’ll bite. What’s he got wrong here?
-
He wrote “The causes of Brexit are nothing to do with the EU...” - and you need to ask why that is a dumbass statement??!!
-
So nothing then. Thanks for your help wombo
-
Yeah, people voted to leave the EU for reasons that have nothing to do with the EU
. We had nothing better to do on the day, so thought we’d vote out for a bit of fun. - 7 more replies

The problem with Brian is that he thinks the country will come back together if Brexit is cancelled. He thinks telling millions that their democratic votes can be ignored will have no repercussions.
-
The only issue in regard repercussions is the massive apathy in today’s society that gives parliament the audacity to act in the way they do. 100-200 years ago we’d be looking at another Peterloo or even worse. But if all we can do is march and wave placards they won’t listen.

the main problem with Brian is Brian and his self inflated ego.... it's taken him to a new level of toy throwing

Cox may well prioritise evidence when he's doing space stuff, but when it comes to Brexit he prioritises virtue-signalling, snark, and sneering at people he considers less enlightened and sophisticated than himself

He has been seduced by his own hype. Now he believes his opinion is greater than all others, just because he is respected by the media
-
He is literally one of the smartest people on the planet

-
He is an academic and a TV personality. That does not make someone 'intelligent' by definition.
-
I think Simon, that we must admit that he is a clever boy. But in the field of Brexit he is only thinking about funding from the EU maybe?
-
He's smart in his area of expertise, sure. But lack of sense and assuming his logic based on politics really suggests he knows very little in anything else.

No matter, Cox is light years away on anything sensible and lives on another planet
