Not so familiar with your work Julia, but have you done similar pieces on other faiths or races?
-
We've all read Julia's articles on Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism, said nobody, ever.......

Ah thought u might make this about free speech, predictably. In reality freedom to criticise & challenge has never been under threat. This is about responsibility & care with words and deeds & how we portray one another. And certainly not *just* about u, but a cumulative impact.
-
Thank you for the reply nonetheless.

Julia will not take responsibility for her part in this problem. I had a twitter convo the other day regarding the
@thetimes calling Tommy Robinson a "politician". Seemed unprepared to say whether she herself viewed him as a racist thug or a politician . -
She won’t take responsibility for anything. Like Johnson for his letterbox and bank robber remarks. It’ll always be hiding under freedom of speech. She doesn’t realise , by making these remarks, she’s fuelling the far right and giving them a mainstream view
-
The media and politicians are not just giving Islamophobia a mainstream view but leading many by the hand down a path to the more extreme and lethal side of Islamophobia. Things will get very bad unless people with profile take responsibility for their words.
-
They don’t. They hide behind freedom of speech . They’re desperate for likes , they’ll say anything

Yes, I agree with free speech too, but surely it's a two way street, surely people should be free to wear exactly what they want to wear.
-
Of course they should be free to wear exactly what they want to wear; they should also be free to choose not to.
-
How do you know that they are not free too?

So that last paragraph doesn’t trouble you at all? Going on about judaeo-christian values and all that? None so blind as those...

Dressed up by politeness, appealing to your “rights” but without thought to consequence or responsibilities. This is just dog whistle “othering” - not free speech. It is divisive speech for which, indirectly, innocent people pay the price with their lives.

Free speech doesn’t mean zero consequences. The rest of us use our intelligence to work around that nuance.

Yeah but you're just wrong Julia. This extremist cites right wing pundits as his inspiration. You're literally no more than 3 degrees of separation/ inspiration away from terrorist. How close are you to Muslim communities
-
You are so ill informed the murderer trolled the MSM with memes and they fell for it. You and the MSM have given him exactly what he wanted.
-
Why are you making excuses for the terrorist?
-
Not sure how you came to that conclusion, weirdo
-
I came to that conclusion because you were making excuses for that terrorist.
-
Where did he do that?
-
Clearly has a metal age of a 4 yo.
-
And yet the only thing you have left is to attempt weak and ineffective insults against said person with "a metal age of a 4 yo."
