Amber Rudd claims that her comments referring to Diane Abbott as “coloured” were “clumsy”. Curious choice of words. Suggests it’s something she might say privately, but self-censor publicly.https://www.businessinsider.com/amber-rudd-race-row-referring-to-diane-abbott-as-coloured-woman-2019-3?r=US&IR=T …

Mind reader now! Wow what talents you imagine yourself to have. Ladies who lunch would be a better place for you to spend your time with phone cameras switched off
-
Patronising, much?
-
Wasn’t your tweet about Lammy just as patronising
-
No, it was mocking. Deservedly so.
-
So you can comment on Rudd but he can’t. Patronising to the core
-
When did I say he couldn’t comment?
-
No you didn’t......you patronised him. And back to square one we go.
-
Nicely done

I love your show
@JuliaHB1 but are you saying she oftens doesn't say what she means? Is this a one off? Or should we now question everything she is 'meant to say'? -
I listened to it and it sounded to me like that was what she meant to say. People say the wrong words all the time. It doesn’t make them racist.
-
On any other occasion I would have been delighted that you responded. But I bet if I said something islamophoic or anti-Semitic it would not be forgiven as the 'wrong words'. Rudd is a representative of our country which includes us Black people! She needs to do better.

My brother in law is from Johannesburg & would be offended to be called anything but coloured.

Must we live our lives wondering that what we say may offend someone? It never used to be like this.

From now on I'm not old, I'm a 'person of age' and if anyone gets it wrong I'm going to take mortal offence and demand you apologise.

They'll come a time when the phrase "person of colour" is politically incorrect and so the PC boulder ROLLS ON!
