I don’t mind what @JuliaHB1 says. Her career is based on having big opinions.
But you shouldn’t call yourself a journalist and be openly biased about politics. You can’t be a campaigner and a journalist. It doesn’t work.

I think you’re confusing being a journalist with being a reporter. I am a fully trained, experienced journalist AND reporter. I moved to be a commentator, giving my personal opinions, & I now host a radio show giving my own opinions, as Ofcom rules allow. Not a contradiction.

It's an inexact term. As far as I'm concerned, journalism is about collating information and presenting it to the public. It's about trust, objectivity and impartiality. When you go from reporting to partial commenting, then - to me - you stop being a journalist

Again, you’re confusing journalism with reporting. What do you call all the newspaper columnists, the leader writers and feature writers who put their personal views in their copy? Are they not journalists?

And, anyway, I have plenty of alternative views on my radio show every day, with studio guests and politicians, who get to argue their case too. I don’t soft soap any of my political guests, whether their views match mine or not.
