Sorry @JuliaHB1, but you don’t get to define Brexit on behalf of everyone who voted leave. I’m a staunch Brexit supporter but my vote wasn’t an instruction to sever all economic and regulatory ties with the EU-27.https://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/1100413699829882881 …

My fellow Leave voters: we must stand firm. We were given a clear choice: Remain or Leave. Leave won. No to the Withdrawal Agreement, which is Brexit in name only. No to any delay. No to a second referendum. No ifs, no buts. We want our vote implemented as we were promised. pic.twitter.com/UAfjX7Wum4

Neither was mine. Why on earth would anyone want to sever all economic ties with the EU? And I didn’t claim to speak for anyone but myself.

But you just posted a picture of the government's information/propaganda leaflet together with an assertion that the Withdrawal Agreement (which itself is only transitory) is "Brexit in Name Only", which is purely your opinion, not the opinion of all Leave voters.

What is it you actually wanted to end then other than official ‘membership’ & voting rights, if you wanted to maintain SMkt regulatory alignment (controlled by the EU), remain paying sig fees, poss remain in a cu & under a European court’s jurisdiction etc etc?

No, what? And the opening paragraph of that document says the vision is an independent free trading nation. May’s deal doesn’t gtee you that, at all. We could end up locked in indefinite customs union with the EU for starters.

I'm the same as Julia. But it seems the eu won't release us fully and offer "free" deals. So we have to leave and assume the businesses within won't wish to trade on WTO for too long, as they are the ones whose profits will be affected

I too was puzzled by the accusation that @JuliaHB1 was supporting severing trading ties with the EU. As far as I’m concerned (& everyone else I know) we all want to continue trading with the EU, but mainly, we want our country back AND to trade freely with the rest of the world.

It seems EU have dictated that we have to sever ties in order to leave. We have to end our relationship before we can forge a new one. It is in neither side’s interest to be enemies - common ground will be found, eventually.
