If you want Regulatory divergence on standards etc then that's *always* going to mean increased levels of friction and Customz checks. That's a given. As for passport checks alone for individuals, it won't change much if we have a deal.

The seven agreements are intimately linked to one another by the requirement that they are to come into force at the same time and that they are to cease to apply at the same time, six months after the receipt of a non-renewal or denunciation notice concerning any one of them.

So Julie, try to wisen up and don’t use analogies when they are not actual analogies - the swiss-EU agreement are interlinked and dependent. EU made sure that you can have your cake and eat it-if you want access to EU, you pay what EU asks- simple logic, right?

You do have a customs and passport free border. Why do Brexiters always forget the 300km land border they have with the EU?

Why are you so ignorant? You are supposedly a journalist. Why don’t you read up on the facts as opposed to spouting complete crap? You may not want borders & want free trade, however your vote leads to the exact opposite of this. 2 minutes on Wikipedia could have told you this!

You do have a customs and passport free border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. You can’t maintain that while also having external trade agreements and different standards with other countries.
