Just approaching the border between France and Switzerland...

FTA for both sides and then UK being able to negotiate its own FTAs? Why would the EU countries do that and undermine their own competitiveness and standards. Of course they won’t. You want single market you stay in EU.
-
Why on earth would the EU do a free trade deal with Japan? Or Canada? Or attempt to do one with the US?
-
Try to go to Tokyo now and see if takes 20 seconds.
-
The EU *has* done a free http://trade.deal with Japan.
-
FTA is not same as single market. There are few tariffs vs 0. There are checks. And it's sector specific & free immigration but not movement. Also fta does not cover services which is uk no1 eu export. Without it businesse move there like it is now.

But that’s exactly what’s on offer - the deepest most comprehensive FTA the EU has ever negotiated. That’s still a massive step backwards from what we have now through the shared legal and technical infrastructure of the Single Market though. You can’t have it both ways.

But I thought we voted for Brexit to take back control of our borders. Surely you don't mean we had control all the time......

Don’t want freedom of movement says the woman tweeting skiing from one country into another without any checks. It never ceases to amaze me how intelligent people can be so stupid when it comes to brexit.
-
Freedom of movement exclusively for wealthy white English people is what she wants, what she really really wants.....and cheap salad items in winter

If we leave , we have no deal. The deal then has to be negotiated. Do you not understand this? Why is this concept so hard to grasp? Currently we have Free Trade. Brexit stops the Free Trade. So we then take years to negotiate Free Trade once again from a position of weakness!
-
And may face another cliff edge on 31.12.20! What a stupid idea this Brexit is proving to be. BTW the EUref result has no legal force whatsoever bc Parl never ratified it! So no MP is under any obligation to vote for a stupid idea, however popular it might hv bn three years ago.

But But but I thought we didn't have control of our own borders? That was one of the three big lies that leave campaigned on.

You don’t want free movement yet you simultaneously don’t want anything to change? All that apres-ski has seemingly impaired your cognitive ability

You want to leave the single market and maintain frictionless trade. Apparently a quick FTA will fix it. The world is so simple when you don't understand it.
