The actual manifesto claimed: "Theresa May’s Conservatives will deliver • The best possible deal for Britain as we leave the European Union delivered by a smooth, orderly Brexit" What part of that manifesto even suggests a No-Deal Brexit?

The 2017 Tory manifesto actually states the words “no deal is better than a bad deal”. Look it up.

Was it a manifesto pledge to leave the EU without a deal? I missed that. I also remember that VoteLeave promised that the UK would only leave once a new arrangement had been agreed. Anything else?
-
Yep. No deal is better than a bad deal. Written in the manifesto. The deal on offer is worse than bad.
-
No...I just read the manifesto again, and cannot find this “no deal” statement. Perhaps you could tell us which page it is written on?

Where did it say 'no deal' in the manifesto pledge Julia? The offer from both leave campaigns in 2016 was a 'great deal'. Whatever happens, it will not be what the majority voted for unless we have a
#FinalSayForAll referendum to provide informed consent. -
What, apart from the fact that the 2017 manifesto specifically uses the following words (in this order): no deal is better than a bad deal.
-
Not really a manifesto pledge is it? I know you Brexity types love a slogan, but it doesn't actually mean anything specific. Where was no deal spelled out and explained? You know, so people didn't think it just meant status quo?

Julia, the Tories lost their majority in that election &, as a result, have had to dump most of their manifesto promises.
-
They didn’t dump the Brexit policy.

But if you feel that those things are not in line with the party you feel aligned to surely you want to try influence your party? Just being devil's advocate here.
-
Yes, that’s clearly their plan. And it has been all along. But it’s dishonest. And they know it.
-
It is and it's making a mess of the whole situation I do get that but do you tow the party line no matter? Tbh I'm sick to the back teeth of the lot of them. Spitting Image could not exist now with the shear lack of genuine personality across politics.
-
Spitting Image could have a field day!
-
That programme would never be allowed now tbf it'd make the new justice warrior movement faint.
-
The difference here is collective responsibility. As Julia said - you can disagree with the PM all you like as a cabinet minister behind closed doors, but once the decision is made you have one voice. Thems the rules. If you want to disagree in public, then resign from cabinet
