So far I've had algebra, Arthur Miller and geography as examples of things that aren't that important. That's the spirit. Exactly the message we should be sending our kids. Any others.

A friend who has taken her daughter on the march told me she was “only missing maths”.

For goodness sake. Your make a living talking about politics. These young people are getting involved. Sure they want a day off and a laugh some of them, maybe most who knows. But they will make the news and discover that what they do and say matters. That is IMPORTANT.

Lovely to see these supposedly well behaved kids hitting peoples cars whilst people were in them, wonder how they all usually get to and from school. Peaceful demonstration is great , attacking peoples cars is vandalism not protest.

Were they asked what they’d be willing to give up to counteract climate damage? Of course they weren’t. They wouldn’t have had a clue what to answer. It was just a jolly day off school for them.

She'll have learnt far more marching for her future than she would in 45 mins of maths. Good for her.
