Julia - They took a day off to strike because they knew it would make a louder noise. You Tweeting about it every 5 seconds confirms that it worked. Hats off to them for caring about the climate. And thanks to you for promoting it.

Yes, because otherwise no one ever mentions climate change in the media. I mean, never once. Ever. Not one word.

And it's important that we keep mentioning it - and inspire kids to talk about it and be active. You seem to be upset that people are trying to promote this hugely important issue further and motivate kids to take part in it too. I don't get that.

And then people would talk about it less. Keep up, Julia.

I think it best if Julia lays down the conditions for protest so any future protests can be valid in her eyes.

If they want to #climatestrike it would have to be done at the weekend when they have part time jobs, since striking is withholding employment. No wonder they chose not to strike, but to bunk off school instead.

Striking is withholding employment. School kids are not employed by schools. Consult a dictionary.

Anyone who's interested in speaking truths rather than falsehoods cares. Hashtag BunkingOffSchoolForaProtest doesn't sound half as noble. As I said, if they really wanted to strike they'd have done it on a Saturday and forgone wages to their Saturday jobs rather than bunk off.

What you call "co-opting words," the rest of the English world call "saying things which are false."
