On the upside, doing the climate strike today means it will all be over in time for them to jet off to the Alps for their half term ski holidays at the weekend. #JobDonehttps://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/1096389297677176833 …

Yeah, isn’t is amazing how many pathetic virtue signalling parents there are who thinking standing around with a placard is more important than their children being at school. I hope every single one of them is fined. https://twitter.com/JoyRhoades1/status/1096387224751558657 …

Ok kids let get serious. Let’s make a real impact. No more air travel. Walk or cycle everywhere. No central heating Severely ration electricity usage No smartphones or other products derived from fossil fuels. Go for it, show everyone just how much this means to you.pic.twitter.com/ORv83CdLlo

I love the stupidity of the all or nothing brigade. The fact is that everyone has an environmental impact. What they are trying to do is highlight the slow pace of changing habits. Good on them.

OK, let's have some examples of how children are making actual changes to reduce their environmental impact. Are they willing to forgo air travel, holidays, fast fashion, lifts to and from friends houses, smartphones ...... None that I know are.

Julia you do realise when people virtue signal about anything, climate change, refugees, more money for the NHS, what they mean is they want other people to change their behaviour and pay more.

It's half term next week. Isn't it strange their lefty teachers didn't choose then to take the brainwashed little darlings to protest then? I've got to stop replying to you Andrew. I'm not doing you any favours.

It was the children who decided when the march was not the teachers. It was a pan European protest. And good on them. Yes let's stop. You're certainly not doing me any favours.

I can’t say I’m that bothered. Nothing we do will matter. It’s the US, China and India that matter. Anyway, if they want to protest let them pay for their own education. Why are my taxes being wasted?

Indeed... depends whether you want substance or protest. If I was at school I’d be much more worried at the debt my taxes will have to pay because of poorly thought out and expensive green policies!
