Not that it will make much difference, but I the planet is worth think missing a day of school. I genuinely don't understand so called 'conservatives', who are so ambivalent about actually 'conserving' the planet!

I’m not a conservative (either with a big or small C). This march won’t change anything at all. Next.
-
How much do you think your tweets change anything Julia? If you think your tweets are relevant, then you have to admit the protest changed something - it changed your tweeting behaviour.
-
I tweet for my own amusement mostly.

Isn't it amazing that such a closed mind with a narrow world view can still get to be a journalist!?
-
Interesting that you confuse someone not agreeing with your opinions with someone having a closed mind. Suggests a very closed mind, doesn’t it?
-
For the record; I didn't offer an opinion.
-
You just did!

AGAIN...its a stunt to draw publicity to it...your talking about it...it worked
-
Cos no one EVER talks about climate change.
-
No one is actually acting on it fart enough to prevent irreversible change tho are they .. which is why these children have a legitimate protest . You and I won’t be here to see the havoc my grandchildren will have to deal with !

What a truly unpleasant person you are becoming Julia These children really care about the huge damage being done to our fragile planet “ please leave those kids alone”

I would take these children more seriously if they each signed a pledge to never own a car, go on an overseas school trip or go abroad on a family holiday. I can tick all three boxes.
-
Or just changing bits so they don't give up everything but it helps. Why I s it all or nothing
-
So long as China continues with its huge programme for the construction of coal fired powered stations and German power stations continue to burn lignite, waving banners in London seems rather futile.
-
That’s the spirit - waving banners never makes any difference, etc, etc and because of other countries there’s no point in us in the UK even bothering to address climate change. Very inspiring to future generations...
-
It is wrong to try to convince malleable young people in the UK that they can make a difference when you and I know that unless those countries make radical changes there is little they can do except wave banners.
-
What if one of these children gets into a position to make a change? What if they all convince others to make a change. We all have to start somewhere.
-
Exactly.. Future leaders, educators, designers and engineers, but yeah... Let's just forget trying and wait out for the inevitable. Your bang on my friend.
