      No they shouldn’t. The blue tick doesn’t tell you what they say is TRUE, it simply says they are who they say they are. The fact that they’re spouting dangerous nonsense is, I’m afraid, one of the necessary downsides of the right to free speech.

          that's a fair point, actually. I suppose the concern is that not everyone is aware of that distinction - the tick can imply authority rather than simply "this person is who they say they are".

          Be grateful, you're just not who you are! I don't even think I'm who I think I am! I may once have been who I thought I was, but looking back now I wonder if I was just then who I'm remembering I think I was then, rather than who I wasn't sure I thought I was at the time?
