It’s not humiliating, Hugo. English is the only truly international language. It’s called “soft power”.https://twitter.com/hugorifkind/status/1093209208995151872 …

The most humiliating thing about Britain being righteously trolled by senior EU diplomats is the way they so effortlessly do it in perfect English.

No, Julia. The humiliating thing is that it's impossible to imagine our politicians doing it back. Even in French.

Godwins Law of course, and not comparable to Brexit (just a point re this notion of democracy never being wrong) but in 1933, the Nazis won power with the largest share of the vote. I say not comparable, interestingly it was 17,277,180 people.

Actually, no single party held a majority through ‘32-33. Hitler was appointed chancellor with the support of industry. Power was cemented through emergency powers later used to abolish opposition parties. Only SD resisted in Reichstag.

They still were the largest party, even in 1932, with 11 million. The "democracy is never a mistake" idea - and btw, I think it's very rarely a mistake - still applies, they had massive popular support.

Yes, Hitler rose to power in a democratic system but within a year he used violence to dismantle that democracy and became a dictator. Had democracy persisted in Germany, he would have been stopped, no?

The only mistake is that we didn't leave sooner. In fact the biggest mistake was being lied to in the beginning when it was the EEC. now look at it. A failing globalist project along with the €uro. Fingers crossed the EU & the €uro will be gone soon.

Incorrect. All of those listed are demonstrable lies, because the methodology of coming up with the predictions was fundamentally dishonest. Cameron asking Obama to say the "back of the queue" quote is particularly unbelievable.

Unbelievable isn’t demonstrable. Brexit is based on lies, xenophobia, foreign money and interference, criminality and ignorance. That’s why democracy, in this case, is a mistake.
