Stand by for @eucopresident to be wildly misquoted. He was speculating about the people who led #Leave not the millions of good people they conned with fake promises they cannot deliver on. https://twitter.com/BBCPolitics/status/1093114757081493504 …

Andrew Neil: As UK remains focussed on its Brexit debate, the Eurozone is hovering on 3rd recession in 10 years. Made more likely by fiscal and monetary policy tightening into the downturn. A no deal Brexit could tilt tottering Eurozone over the brink. Will Brussels take notice?

I don't get it. Everyone I know who voted to Leave was voting to completely leave under WTO, or under a deal with the EU if (and only if) one could be made which was better than no deal. This was the plan and still should be.

Remainers are convinced leavers were conned by leavers whilst leavers think leavers have been conned by remainers. Remainers are convinced no one has conned them but leavers think remainers have been conned by the EU.

Tell you what Anna, why not put the Brexiteers in charge of the process instead of the PM and civil service cabal, and let's see what they can deliver.

Because the Brexiteers, when offered the opportunity to take charge and lead, all fled like the cowards they are because they fear responsibility.

Davis / Baker / Raab all bypassed by the PM and Cabinet Office. Likely a breach of the ministerial code. Chequers, an attempt to bounce the cabinet. Another breach. Withdrawal agreement, indefinite EU membership. Breach of trust with the electorate. It not the Brexiters at fault

Why was May in power in the first place? Because Brexiteers knew they couldn't deliver on any of the promises they made.

Leave has not conned millions of people. I don't recall remain campaigners being open about what happens to our nation if we stay in the eu. How is Anna Souby still an MP?

1/2 As you surely know, Everything changes if we stay in. Did you not read the Lisbon Treaty at all? Are you unaware of member nations committing to furthering integration? Did you not hear Juncker declar he wants the eu to make the world in its image?

For all that to happen, unanimity is required.

All members commit to furthering i ntegration. Also, Article 48 of the Lisbon Treaty, member-nations ceded the powers to the eu to change it's own constitution. Also eu leaders repeatedly call for an end to vetoes - there goes unanimity

@Anna_Soubry comment would indicate that @eucopresident is even more arrogant in his disdain for the British electorate, in that he assumes that we can't formulate our own conclusions, and need to be taken by the hand, and 'led' to them by politicians.
