Does this now mean that I have to tell my daughter, who gained a First at Cambridge in medicine and is now a successful anesthetist (who are probably the brightest doctors within the hospital) that she is too thick to understand or make any considered decisions

I was holding myself in check... but afraid there's no avoiding it... Jan seems very nice but this is precisely the closed minded thinking that out of arrogance & aforementioned 'group-think' I was suggesting many institutions foster.. not inquisitive independent thinking at all

Clearly I am also dim, notwithstanding tertiary formal education.. yet I consider the best all-round education I got to be a combined balance of very excellent boarding school, some years active military service & 2 years 3 miles underground in a gold mine.. I learned about life!
