I don’t think it’s logical either. People’s views change as they age. So one cohort replaces the next.https://twitter.com/mattforde/status/1085923162754289669 …

I hate this argument. Whatever the generational differences about Brexit, delighting in the passing of our elderly - some of whom will have voted to Remain anyway - is horrible. https://twitter.com/pollytoynbee/status/1085875822693634048?s=21 …

What with @theJeremyVine spouting off about the elderly and now @pollytoynbee isn't it time these people realised elderly people are someone's loved ones and not a dratted talking point for click bait. Just awful journalism.

If you read the piece you’ll find she was just stating fact and citing statistically validated observations, followed by some general non age related observations. If all politicians only dealt in facts, Leave would have scored 0%.

They have no idea what the voting was of the people who've died in the last two years. That's not fact that's supposition x guess work x maybe.

It's statistics. It's nothing to do with revelling in deaths it's to do with a combination of factors: in 3 years a proportion of the population who voted in 2016 cannot vote now (various reasons); new voters are now able to vote; and some will have changed their mind

I wasn’t born so couldn’t vote in 1975 and so had to wait 41yrs. Many of the people who did vote are now dead. In another 41yrs the EU won’t exist as it didn’t exist in 1975!

Actually Adam has rather missed the point. The "will of the people" argument for proceeding with Brexit relies on the notion that people don't change their mind. If that were true, remain would still overtake leave due to demographics.

Having previously argued that people haven't changed their minds, you're now arguing that people do, in fact, change their minds. Which I agree with. So given that we all agree on this, we must agree that we don't know whether the public still wants Brexit (polls indicate not).

No. You don’t understand that views on Brexit are not the same as say taxation. They are far similar to views on say sexual equality. Once decided they stay. Brexit is so last year Julia. Do catch up.
