Not worth risking Corbyn She should resign and Tory Remainers should admit they have screwed up and let a Brexit Tory leader run the show from now. Boris, Raab or Mogg.

But, would enough Remain Conservative MPs support that new Leader to give a working majority in the House?
-
@JuliaHB1 doesn't seem to understand that if the 'govt falls' there will be a general election and so a new Tory leader won't necessarily be 'leading' anyone steadfastly anywhere if Labour win that election. All academic because I think May will win the NCV. -
Not necessarily, under Fixed Term Act, governing party has two weeks to select a new PM and form a govt. If it can't, Corbyn gets his chance. Only if he fails, is there a GE. Think you're right about result of NCV, but, Julie posed an alternative scenario.

Thanks John. I've just been researching this and you are righthttps://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/explainers/confidence-motions-parliament …

Would you teach my Wife to say that..

Split parties do not win elections. That would hand the government on a plate to Corbyn, That is worse than any deal any right minded person could think of.
-
Labour as split & has lost trust of its leave constituencies with endless talk of GE/PV rather than building cross party support for soft Brexit position. Both parties unelectable in current form. Personally a centrist and hope new party emerges but in meantime
#CommonMarket2 -
That’s not
#brexit. I don’t give a fcuk what mp’s think. We told them what to do after they passed the decision to us. If they don’t deliver it’s the end of the pact between the people and those who wield power. They won’t like the consequences. -
All you or anyone else can assume is that leave voters voted to leave the political union. Beyond that there are choices.
#CommonMarket2 Soverign nation able to make own trade deals. Rule maker. Access to single market. FOM with unilateral brake. Close to European friends. -
Wrong - leave means leaving the CU, SM no jurisdiction by ECJ and end of FOM. All nicely contained in gov financed (our money) leaflet sent to every household. It’s pretty easy to understand really.
-
Leaves CU and outside ECJ jurisdiction with greater unilateral control over FOM, and an FTA which we need anyway... Everyone gets most of what they want. A little compromise for everyone... and we call all get on with our lives :).

Made me chuckle that ! Like any Tory or DUP MP will vote to give Corbyn even a glimmer of hope of being PM

More chance of bumping my ass on the far side of the moon thankfully

I do not see any political party in the UK Parliament electing a Brexit leader. This whole issue will be ground down and managed in such a way that we stay in the EU. Our MP,s are determined to stay in. This is not my Parliament. I will not vote for, support or obey them.

If TM had an ounce of decency she’d resign the Conservatives can appoint a Brexiteer leader with a new vision and exciting future plan this can be fantastic
