Women journalists who do TV, either as a main job or occasional punditry and paper reviews, do you also get emails from men criticising what's wrong with your voice/words/clothes/hair? And do male journalists get this too?

I quite like your hair. It’s your opinions I struggle with.

I vehemently disagree with you but I would never call someone out for what their looks are be they female, male or whatever you feel your identity is. To do that loses the argument from the get go.

With the exception of Bercow.

You are not being called misinformed and wrong because you are a woman Julia, it’s because you are misinformed and wrong. Nothing to do with gender.

What sort of non-life does someone have, that they would contact a complete stranger (familiar as we all are with TV/Radio journos, most of us don't, actually, know them personally), to comment on their appearance. As we were told, as kids. There's no excuse for bad manners.
