On a purely, purely personal note: #ImmigrationWhitePaper makes for a depressing and sad read. I would qualify for the highly-skilled system, but it certainly doesn't make me feel welcome in the UK.

Hi Julia. I don't oppose the idea of controlling who can or can't come to live and work in the UK, at all. What's more, I understand that some people may feel strongly about immigration (even if I disagree with them) & agree this needs to be addressed to detoxify this debate. +

good luck with your insularism

So it’s insular to offer the same visa rights to people from the other side of the world as those living just across the Channel? Okedokes.

many of us frequently work in Europe Julia - we are not saying that immigration should be cut from elsewhere but Europe is our home ! We can hop on a ferry to go back and visit friends in other countries as they are close by !
-
And you still will be able to.

Errr..most nurses and junior doctors don't earn £30,000. There's a clue.
-
The £30k is under consultation for just that reason. That isn’t a reason for Jakub to feel unwelcome.
-
Rather than it being the money that says you are skilled it should be the occupation that you can do, similar to the Australian visa system that way we can get skilled migrants where there are shortages & unskilled migrants a working visa for 12 months with mand health insurance

#brexit and people like You? Do You know what empathy is? -
