Fair enough. Can we have a second referendum two years after we leave then?

I don’t have an issue with that at all if you can get it into an election manifesto and that party wins power. Go ahead and be my guest! That’s democracy in action.

What only the 'elite' can have the option to change their minds once they realise the mistake they have made?
-
If you want a second referendum 2 years after we leave, then fine... but not BEFORE we leave.
-
So you don’t support giving the people a say on the deal which resulted from biggest vote in history? You would rather have it imposed upon us by the government? This is deal that 60% of leavers think doesn’t deliver Brexit but you would deny them their voice?
-
Forced on us like the Maastricht treaty
-
You elected a government that clearly stated what it was going to do and obtained specific UK opt-outs. The current bunch of muppets did not say what they were going to do and we end up with a compromise which some leavers say is brexit and many more say isn't - and no say in it
-
The Leave campaign weren’t the government so their campaigning has no further meaning. It’s for Parliament to implement Brexit as best they can, in a way they wish. But implement it they must.
-
It is also their duty to represent the majority of the public that put them there and leave

No, actually leaving the EU which was the result of a democratic referendum would be part of the process of ongoing democracy. And then in maybe in forty years or so have another look at it.
-
Will probably take us forty years to leave anyway, so about right.

It's the basic lack of respect in this tweet that perfectly illustrates the climate of contempt we're all experiencing

Where can I start? Unicorns aren’t for real.

I'm glad you've realised that. Now you understand what we've known all along and why we voted to leave the EU

-
Yes, I understand but they DON’ exist. Davis, Gove, Fox, Raabid, none of them made their promises true. Guess what? All lies. The dream Brexit doesn’t exist. Nothing is better than staying where we are, top players in the top team. Nothing is better. Brexit dream is over.
