How on earth did I manage to travel to the US, Costa Rica, South Africa and Thailand in the last few years? Last time I looked, they weren’t in the EU either... I must have been imagining those holidays.https://twitter.com/davidallengreen/status/1072398263360339968 …

I travel a lot for work and anywhere outside the EU is usually a nightmare Not just for visas, but also carnets. It devours a massive amount of time and money. Inside the EU it is totally effortless.

Why are people struggling with this concept? Working in another country and visiting another country on holiday ARE NOT THE SAME THING

-
Lots of people worked in Germany in the late 70s before freedom of movement. Wasn’t difficult then and wouldn’t be when we leave. Just another poor excuse from remoaners. I expect half of them have never even left the country

-
Of course. I forget, the world has not moved on at all since the 1970's. On March 30th, whilst I'm filling in paperwork and paying for visas required for my small business to function, you can enjoy trolling 'remoaners' via fax machine.
-
And what sort of business would that be where you would need lots of visas?? Can’t be a small business if you are sending lots of your staff to E.U. countries

I run a small independent record label. Every single time a musician is offered a chance to play in Europe, we can use that chance to build their fanbase abroad. Paying to visas, on top of travel and accommodation for a whole band for a show with a low fee is not affordable.

Don’t forget that all of their equipment would likely have to be checked in and out on a carnet like with most other countries outside the EU.
-
Are you saying that all the musicians that tour the world have every piece of equipment checked every time they go through a different customs point.? Really!
