How on earth did I manage to travel to the US, Costa Rica, South Africa and Thailand in the last few years? Last time I looked, they weren’t in the EU either... I must have been imagining those holidays.https://twitter.com/davidallengreen/status/1072398263360339968 …

Today Theresa May gets to exercise that very right to free movement in Europe that she is so anxious to deny to others.

And yes I know travelling to a country is not the same as “a right to free movement” but brief trips for work or leisure by people who don’t have criminal records won’t be affected by us leaving the EU.

And, no, our PM won’t need a visa to travel to Berlin after we’ve left the EU either.

It’s likely to be a courtesy afforded to heads of state/heads of government that mere mortals like us don’t get. That makes it ok though to say we’re making a fuss about the removal of our ability to travel without hinderance between 27 countries 😡

That’s correct because the E.U. have decided to put the UK on their no visa required list, on the assumption that the UK does the same. Your EIHC will no longer be valid and your right to compensation will no longer apply to UK flights.

No Visas will be required with either a deal or no deal situation (assuming reciprocal arrangements by the U.K.) . This has already been agreed by the E.U. In a no deal Brexit, preferred by JHB,the other elements are obviously true. What don’t you understand?

It's all madness, the remain camp is proper doom and gloom, if they want to keep FOM then why don't they move to the EU quickly and take up residency then they can keep it and we can be done with all their constant moaning.

I worked for a British company in 1973/4/5 , working in the European countries of 🇫🇷, 🇩🇪 🇮🇹 Belgium 🇧🇪 travelling between them on 3 months contracts crossed boarders with little problems so why would it be difficult after brexit , we had 1 year passports then too

Difference is, all of that would have been arranged for by your employer; accommodation, visas, right to work documentation, access to your wages - what we have with the EU means all of that is there for anyone to find work etc with a minimum of fuss, not just for professionals.

Hotels are different from finding somewhere to live and sorry, "living off [an] allowance" negates any of the issues faced by everyone else - by the way, it's borders and your working for a company took care of the work visa unless you were fruit-picking off the books etc.

Blind optimism is exactly what has got us into this mess in the first place. Incidentally, it costs €60 for visit visa for Germany. Plus a £19.50 service fee per application. Source: http://www.vfsglobal.com/Germany/UK/visa_fees_at_a_glance.html …

😂 The EU didn't invent travel. Only 1% of Brits use free movement, more Brits live in Australia than the whole of the EU 27 put together, it's no big deal.

Sorry, could you provide the evidence for that assertion. Also, what do you mean by free movement? Visiting or living there? We are talking about visiting the EU. The ability to do either is something that you are willing to throw away and that is sad.
