And yes I know travelling to a country is not the same as “a right to free movement” but brief trips for work or leisure by people who don’t have criminal records won’t be affected by us leaving the EU.

And, no, our PM won’t need a visa to travel to Berlin after we’ve left the EU either.

With visas, dear Julia, with visas.
-
I didn’t need a visa for South Africa, Costa Rica or Thailand. The US one was quick, cheap, online and lasts for 2 years. No biggy.
-
And if your response is that the EU negotiated that visa free travel with those countries.... yes, and that’s precisely what they will negotiate with us after we leave.
-
Julia, there is a world of difference between a travel visa and a working visa. I recently spoke to a young American man who had a hellish time getting his work visa for UK, despite being married to a Brit. FOM works both ways. It is both a privilege and a right.

If FoM is a ‘right’ why is it confined to the EU by the EU? Why does the EU discriminate? Let’s eliminate visas altogether and have worldwide FoM. Close down border controls. Good idea?

She's not on holiday, Julia.

No, May wasn’t using that right today either

Being a tourist is not the same as being able to live and work there. I’m surprised I need to point this out. Besides, you had to pay for a visa for the US.

She looked like she was working pretty hard to get out of that car...

Did you have the right to work in any of those locations? Live there, indefinitely?
-
No, May wasn’t using that right today either

Was she not working over there then?
-
No. She was over there begging. Like an international political vagrant.
