Two and half years of this. Two and half sodding years. In all that time, I have never met ANYONE who voted Leave because of what was written on the side of a big red bus. Not one. Not a bloody one.https://twitter.com/aaron1867/status/1071678210377744384 …

Of course it’s not. Other member nations get a say. It wouldn’t be democratic if it was just British voters that counted would it?
-
The commission, the all powerful Junckers and Verhof' of this world are utterly immune to public vote. They are political appointees. These people decide what EU will and will not do, the MEPs merely rubber stamp their plans, like a poor mans house of lords. Totally undemocratic.
-
They are voted in by peers and governments. The government’s set it up this way. They only serve fixed terms. Plus the Commision have to please enough MEPs to get thier legislation through, they can’t just force laws through.
-
Commissioners are nominated by their Govs and picked by a committee and at no point in the process are exposed to a public vote. The president (Juncker) has a 3rd hand mandate from a group. The "parliament" can neither propose nor amend legislation w/out commission approval.

Did you sleep through the European elections Julia or were you too busy waving your flag and sneering at foreigners?
-
Did you vote for the EU president?
-
Did you vote for the House of Lords?

How much accountability will we have over choosing the next Prime Minister assuming Mrs May falls on her sword?
-
Seriously?
-
Yes. It could be Johnson, Mogg or Anna Soubry. If it was the latter you'd be happy I guess because it would be democracy in action?
-
Explain to me what influence I have on voting in the top echelon of the EU? Tusk, Junker etc?
-
What influence do you have over the Queen, the House of Lords, and the next Prime Minister if May is axed?
-
Sorry answering my question with another? You’re the one talking about influence, I asked about EU, what influence do I have?
-
You vote for MEPs who are elected more democratically than MPs. Our country then has a say in all European affairs as a full member. You do understand membership of a collective don't you?
-
Thanks for trying to patronise me, always works well. I vote for my MP, they then represent me in HOC, the government MP,s can elect a new PM if required, not same as EU then?

There’s literally elections, voted for by the British voter.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

If it was fully accountable to British voters, I think the other 27 nations would feel a bit upset that they weren’t represented. Do you even understand what democracy means?
-
..& and being part of a club or committee. You have a vote which you use to reflect your consitituency. Some you win, some you lose. It's called collective responsibility & bargaining. Our problem is we want our own way all the time because of sheer bloody arrogance & entitlement

Old arguments which were lost in 2016! Move on.
