When Macron says “reform the EU” he means giving *more* powers to the EU. Just in case you were wondering.https://twitter.com/SkyNewsBreak/status/1066616462830391296 …

The EU is the way that the democracies of Europe have elected to organise themselves. The more powerful the EU is the more powerful they all are. As we have just seen with Spain able to force our hand over Gibraltar. Spain knows the benefits of being in a powerful trading block.

That has nothing to do with the EU being powerful, and everything to do with Mrs. May being about as strong as a soggy prawn cracker, and possessing the backbone of a jellyfish.

Spain is a smaller and weaker nation than us. But because it has the backing of the EU it can punch above its weight. If you think May is capitulating now wait till you see us do our trade deal with Trump. It is not that May is weak. We now are.

Again, that has nothing to do with the strength of Britain's hand, and everything to do with May intentionally selling out Britain.

You clearly have decided to accept the narrative that had a 'remainer' like may not been in charge of negotiations we would somehow have magically found ourselves with all our demands met in the negotiations with the EU. A seductive fantasy at best.

Nope, I'm absolutely certain that the UK wouldn't get everything they would want from the deal. Any healthy negotiation is a give & take. The difference here is, May just rolled over and gave away everything right from the start. She didn't even TRY to negotiate for Britain.

Given the red lines May had there was no better deal on offer. The fantasy that many Brexiteers suffer from is that the EU values Britain's trade above the integrity of its four freedoms. The negotiation has been a slow, relentless demonstration of that fact. It would always be.

Public dissent is what happens when politicians continually ride roughshod over the people and ignore democracy. When politicians dismiss your reasoned voice for ideological purposes only, what alternatives do people have. London could be next.https://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/1066616819614707713?s=19 …

Exactly. Reform is doublespeak. The EU wants every country who's joined it's racket to hand over the last vestiges of its sovereignty and democracy.
