For the purposes of accuracy @DeborahMeaden we have this thing in democratic ballots where we only count the physical votes that are actually cast rather than the votes that weren’t. Or maybe you’d prefer it if we just, you know, based the result on your best guess?https://twitter.com/DeborahMeaden/status/1065693646777913344 …

You're missing Deborah's point., "the electorate" is defined as all those eligible to vote. It's factually incorrect to say that 52% of the electorate voted to Leave; "52% of people who voted" is correct, & won the Referendum. But the majority of the electorate DIDN'T vote Leave

The majority didn’t vote to remain either, by your own logic.

Correct. At no point did I suggest, and neither did Deborah, that Remain won anything. Simply that the winning Leave voting percentage wasn't, isn't and never will be the majority of the electorate. Why is it so hard for people to read what is clearly written?

There doesn’t seem to be any point to that statement, the referendum was decided by the greatest percentage of those that voted not those that could vote. It seems rather trivial to me x

I disagree, it's very important to clarify that the majority of the British voting public did not vote to Leave, as is often claimed. The majority either voted Remain or did not vote. Not saying that the result wasn't fair and accurate. Just misleading.

You could as easily say that the majority either voted Leave or didn’t vote. Your comments simply confirm your bias

Wow, this is painful! Please read what's actually written and not invent stuff or assume what I mean. I'm not claiming that non-voters should be included in the Remain count. Leave won, but the percentage is misleading if stated as 52% of the electorate, as that's untrue

What, Scott? You mean like that democratic decisions are reversible if the electorate so chooses? Or that Julia H-B is scared that she will find people have changed their minds now they know just what leaving means?

The people decided to leave the EU, that must be implemented. We can’t have another vote because some people might have changed their minds.

We leave and the nation goes to shit. Millions lose jobs. Big businesses leave and their small suppliers go under. Our global influence sinks and Leavers will blame Remainers for not sorting it out for them.
