That argument would hold more sway if the Brexiteers in the cabinet actually came up with a workable alternative in the 2 years.

They did. They were ignored
-
No they didn’t. Hoping the other side will agree to unrealistic demands/expectations is not a plan - it’s wishful thinking. There was never a chance terms for exit could be or can be agreed which are as favourable as the terms we have as members.

Oh you can get out of it. No deal is certainly a realistic outcome - but one that would do even more economic damage that would hit ordinary people the hardest. Any trade deal will be on worse terms than a member would get - why is that hard to understand?
-
Its not hard to understand, its simple, thats what we voted for, independence, take back control, short term suffer for long term gain, get us the hell out of this corrupt club before they shaft us any further.
-
I don’t recall any of that on the side of a bus ...
-
The bus had very little to do with my vote, if youre not prepared to do your own homework and rely on everything being written on the side of a bus for your own valudation then you deserved to lose. Sour grapes.

Excuse me. Mrs May has not produced a 'Brexit deal', She's produced a 'Remain deal'. Or, to be more strictly accurate, an 'In Deeper Deal'.
-
May's "Brexit" is a complete (or should I say incomplete ) stitch up ....

There are many of us outside the UK who are astonished that your government thinks that it can deliver a deal with the EU that has almost nothing the people voted for. Just get the hell out. Let the Irish figure out what to do with their damn border.

The only reason Brexit has been disastrous so far is because so many duplicitous, conniving politicians, media, Remainers and those with vested interests have deliberately contrived to work together to prevent Brexit. So don’t blame Brexiters for having a legitimate vote!

The problem isn’t the vote, it’s the bait and switch.pic.twitter.com/UmSSL7XYF0

It’s a BOGUS deal and May will not get away with this lightly. We teach our children not to lie and yet permit our PM to do the opposite.

Little wonder voting is meaningless.

Everyone talks about this godforsaken cliff we'll fall off if we don't obey the EU and go without their deal. What cliff would this be? I think if we just get out they will be as keen to get an FTA in place as we have been for the last two years.
-
All treaties associated with EU membership would become null and void. 1000s of things like insurance, driving licences and commercial flights will be affected. Operating as a third country under WTO rules will mean we're the lowest of the low, with new trade years away.
-
We currently have trade deals with 60 countries in addition to the 27 other EU States. These will take decades to replace. So an entire generation can say goodbye to any chance of prosperity.
-
They take so long to put in place because all 28 countries of the EU have to agree first... Sometimes in our lives we have to take a little pain today to be better tomorrow. The alternative is to keep our country suffering for the 11bn we throw into the abyss annually...
-
More hypothesis and made up figures to scare us... The majority of the world's economies survive just fine outside of the EU.
-
So you're literally stuffing your fingers in your ears and making up your own reality? The majority of the countries outside the EU have their own trade agreements that took decades to build up. They aren't pressing the delete button on them!
