And in the meantime we remain. Sounds like a good plan.

You realise he is taking about 5-10 years ( or more depending on changing UK governments with different policy goals)
-
Nowhere near five - ten years to complete the process.
-
Longer then? Bearing in mind anything more than 2020 and leavers freak out
-
That is the basic problem with this whole debate, a belief that you can leave, transition and agree new arrangements within a limited time scale.

So we are supposed to give more time to politicians and civil servants who all voted REMAIN and want to overturn our vote to restore British independence? No way. Put a Brexiteer in charge and let him deliver a managed no deal BrExit on WTO terms
-
Rather pointless. I'd rather we weren't in the Lisbon Treaty in the first place but as we are, we have to follow the 2year notice period. We should have used the time to prepare for exit without agreement though.
-
The notice period expires on March 31st 2019. At this point it's about managing what happens on that date. May's transition plan has failed because she has nothing to transition to. That's the crux of the matter. How do we get out, not how do we change our minds and stay in

The amusing part here is that, as a European, I'd be willed to accept such a reorientation of the process in favor of people such as
@davidallengreen. But I certainly wouldn't want many more years of people such as you, Boris or Rees-Mogg commenting on the EU and a new deal.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Leave first then sit down on equal terms.
-
Equal? 1 nation negotiating with 27 in the EU, and 160 others in the WTO, while hemorrhaging money, jobs and respect? Great plan.

I couldn't DISAGREE more. Nine months after referendum win to trigger article 50. Now two years to negotiate our exit from the EU, with talk of extending transitional period further.. Enough is enough, out on WTO for the UK for me. This is the best deal for the UK.
-
Not the best deal for anyone working in Manufacturing, Farming, Fishing or Services. Also less than optimal for anyone needing essential medication on a daily basis. But other than that, you might be right.
-
WTO-only terms are great. So great that NO-ONE IN THE WORLD RELIES ON THEM. Except some people here seen to think that jumping into shark infested water is better than staying in the boat.

Sad to see your populism went down like a lead balloon on Question Time. Every time you spoke you got this from the audience...pic.twitter.com/qyWDgwNDtJ
