A fraudster who claimed more than £100,000 meant for Grenfell Tower Victims has been jailed for six years. The 38-year-old falsely said he'd been staying with relatives at a flat on the 21st floor of the block. Read the latest news stories here: https://news.sky.com/  pic.twitter.com/BbMmfoiOoz

Over £600k of fraudulent claims from the fire have been prosecuted how was it so easy to make a claim and get caught?

I suggest that the authorities were placed under immense political pressure by Labour to dole out the cash with no delay, so there were limited checks before the money was given away. The checks came after, hence the prosecutions. One official was jailed for theft as well.

Given the increasing number being bought to justice it's almost as if the actions were coordinated.....

It does seem that the cash was doled out before the checks with a commitment to prosecute rather than prevent fraud.

Where is David lammy and Dianne Abbott they seem to like using the Grenfell tragedy for their own causes when it suits them. Keeping quiet about this tho.

Ok. But shouldn't someone have verified he was there long before he racked up £100k? And how does anyone rack up £100k of costs in just over a year? Are we putting him up at the Goring?
