Read the whole piece Julia. Not so excellent news. Tropical nights are dangerous and can lead to death amongst the elderly.

Actually, warmer weather is, on balance, better for death stats than colder weather.

Oh dear...yes Julia, warmer weather in winter is likely to reduce death rates, but hot nights in the summer is likely to result in the opposite

So still good news for those who aren't on the verge of death.

Seems it, but hopefully someone will come up with an extremely negative and depressing response.

The same Met Office that cannot seem to predict an accurate weather forecast for more than 2 days.....

I find the #MetOffice surprisingly accurate given our maritime climate

Try working in an industry that needs accurate forecasts, weather forecasts by the Met Office over the last 20 years have become unusable ,now rely on Irish Weather service, they are not obsessed with south east England.

Ok I’m no scientist, but comparing a 29 year average against a 10 year average doesn’t seem logical. They compared 1961-1990, Why didn’t they carry on and compare 1991-2017 instead of just 2008-2017

A mixed blessing IMO. Can't sleep for the noise of tigers roaring on the front lawn and we've already lost 3 neighbours to the crocodiles...

Also when St. Paul’s was built they unearthed hippo, giraffe and lion skeletons. It used to be a lot warmer. Well be ok.
