Here’s a thought... We all become Vegans to save the animals... We no longer need animals so they’re not farmed or bred... The animals then become obsolete in our society and so will eventually become extinct... So much for saving all the animals eh

That is EXACTLY the point! Was it a good joke? No. Was it in bad taste? Yes. Was it ill considered? Yes. Did he mean it? Of course not. Is it worth trashing his career over to make a politically correct point? NO.

As someone who suffered from being a vegetarian for a couple of years (I’m ok now!) I can assure you that the overriding reason for being veggie/vegan is to be an insufferable moraliser.
