Phil Hammond promises £500m to build 650,000 homes. What a magician this man is. Hey @JuliaHB1 you always jump on MP’s making mathematical errors. How about this one? Oh, hang on. It’s not Diane Abbott.

Oh dear, are you struggling with your reading again? It’s not for building the actual homes, as the Guardian explains here (but it still won’t lead to that many new homes being built and Hammond knows it won’t)https://www.theguardian.com/society/2018/oct/29/hammond-earmarks-500m-budget-boost-for-infrastructure …

No, you just didn’t understand what he said. Or maybe you can’t understand what the Guardian has written.

Maybe you just didn't understand the Skwawkbox article? Hammond either made a mistake in his budget speech or he deliberately misled. Either way, had Diane Abbott done the same, you'd have been all over it.

But isn't it disingenuous to link the infrastructure spending to a 'hoped for" 650000 homes? What will resonate is the aspiration not the actuality. I'm planning to spend a couple of quid on a lottery ticket with a "hoped for' return of £100 million. #snapelection?

So, it's essentially money that's going towards the 'planning'.That's great, planning will house the homeless and others in need, in no time... I mean, if we base it on the Tories planning of Brexit, these homes may be ready for occupants next century... yay.

The number of houses built won't be great. The concentration should be on 'affordable housing', if someone can accurately define what 'affordable housing' really means.

Are they 'affordable ' house? There is a difference between 'affordable ' housing up North and darn sarf.

Very poor reply, back in the schoolyard with Julia the mind numbing tedium of her argument wears thin.
