On behalf of all men, I apologise. I’ll be bringing this matter up at our weekly meeting of the entire male population.

Could this be another London thing?

I'm not singling you out, Nick, but you made the comment, so please pass this on. In all my yrs in London, I've never once felt unable to give a suitable response if any man overstepped the mark with a crass comment. As a Londoner, I'm more concerned about stabbing/gun crime.

One lady in that news report (a lone voice of course) who said a whistle or a 'corr' made her feel good - I liked her. If it didn't happen when I was a girl I wondered what was wrong. Blokes frightened to flirt now. Oops - better get ready for the vitriolic tirade....

I think woman liked to be noticed sometimes, especially when they are dressed up and looking nice. Why not

I wish men would shout at me nice rude things in the street. I walk up & down streets passing builders & scaffolders for hours. Nothing.

When are politicians going to understand the concept of priority and proportion? May's failure on Brexit and this harassment story are classic examples.

Very true. However Carole Malone completely brushed aside some bloke that was telling her about the number of times women stick their hand up his shorts so disregard is from both men and women for this sort of thing.
-
Hmmm, do you think it was wishful thinking? My husband says he is willing to sacrifice himself by taking it on but how long is the queue?

He's behind me

Men will have to wear headgear with blinkers and ballgags to stop the harassment. Only be allowed out in the company of chaperones and speak when they're spoken to! Quite a future for men in general!

I definitely am walking the wrong streets or I’m just not interesting enough to harass. I feel quite left out.pic.twitter.com/quSE0uDCkV

My 21 year old daughter is a student at the University of Liverpool and says she and her friends constantly get groped. I don’t know if it really is that bad or I just have become accustomed to it?
-
It seems like most who don’t see it have numbed themselves to it as you say. I think younger generations have grown up being informed about Peadofiles & have a greater sense of applying lessons to everything they do. I put it down to moving from broad knowledge to situational.
-
Character limit in the way but I’m sorry for your daughter but it’s great she can tell you. I hope she reports it as many woman don’t and it helps others to know they’re not alone.
-
She doesn’t as she doesn’t trust the police to take it seriously .

It doesn’t surprise me on the least as I believe many people of my age or older would have the attitude that she is being too sensitive. Also what chance of prosecution say in a crowded nightclub. The problem is that some males know they can get away with it. Appalling.

What she says is that sometimes it’s so crowded and you feel the gripe but when you look around you can’t even tell who did it. I have s son and would hope he doesn’t behave like this.
