What a pathetic cretin

Aw, you’re looking after your mate! Sweet!
-
Actually I thought it was pretty obvious I was calling him a pathetic cretin. I suspect you knew that, but why let it get in the way of a good story eh?
-
When did I suggest I thought it was aimed at me?
-
Erm, in your previous tweet but honestly don't let me distract from sticking up for the guy who's called either the hospitalised kid or his dad a pathetic cretin...
-
No I didn’t. And I’m not sticking up for anyone. I’m simply pointing out that it was very obvious who the comment was aimed at. The stepdad’s tweet is revolting.
-
Then I've completely misunderstood everything and I apologise for both misunderstandings. I'm not sure how it's happened.

If someone directly replied to my tweet with 'what a cretin' they would clearly be talking about Stewart Jackson, the subject of my tweet. To address me, the sender of the tweet, they would say ‘you’re a cretin’. He did the former
-
The meaning of what he posted is clearly addressing the subject of the first tweet, the kid. It's entirely possible he doesn't know how to use Twitter properly: he now says he was talking about the dad, as I re-posted. The exchange is there for people to make up their own minds!
-
I get your point but I still think it’s obvious who he was referring to. And I think you knew it too.
-
I can genuinely say it didn’t even cross my mind that he might be referring to the dad when I read what he had written, but given his denial I accept it’s possible and I’ve re-posted it. I certainly don’t agree it was ‘obvious’, if anything it was obviously the other way

I think it’s likely the comment was aimed at the kind of person who would use vulnerable children in service of a political campaign. And as such the description is entirely appropriate.

Not obvious and if true still a deeply depraved thing to reply. Why defend? Odd.
-
Just think though. Son in hospital with serious operation. Dad leaves to go to a pointless march and comes back and uses ill son to make a political point. Pretty shocking.
-
If you think making a comment like that is acceptable then your are further down the Brexit rabbithole than most. In good company with JHB though!
-
Just to clarify I don't support the use of the word cretin but I do believe the bigger issue of the two is using your seriously ill son to score nonsensical political points
-
And that's all I was contesting. All for debate and questioning, but not that. It belittles everyone and is what makes this Brexit debate so bloody toxic.
