They're A major power, but not THE major power. If they were so powerful, we'd have been given the deal we wanted because their car companies were all knocking on the door of Angela Merkel the day after the referendum weren't they? Weren't they? But you told us... hold on a mo!
-
Oh bore off with your condescending attitude

-
Do you want to win on the substance? Happy to take you on. We're both on the same side - wanting the best for the UK. But the nudge-nudge-wink-wink blaming of Germany for all our ills isn't going to help anybody, Brexit or no Brexit. They're our partners now.
-
Unfortunately you think Germany are our partners but right now they are not, they are working to ensure
#Brexit is a disaster to discourage others to follow us. -
They're doing no such thing. Honestly, and this is not even remain-bias. They're applying the rules that we helped write, because we decided to become a 3rd country like Turkey or Albania. We're asking for special treatment that they're not able to offer.
-
Unfortunately their intransigence will be their downfall, they missed their opportunity when David Cameron asked for consideration with our difficulties, I think you know the rest!
-
It's not intransigence, though. We chose to change our status. They said: fine! Now you're a 3rd country. Then we started moaning saying we didn't want to be a 3rd country. So they said: fine! Now we accuse them off bullying us into remaining. We're a joke.
-
I wish they'd given Cameron more, but they can't without changing the entire basis of the EU. We could have remained and campaigned to do just that! Cameron's deal + remain is going to be far, far superior to what we end up with. Madness to reject it.

Correct
@JuliaHB1 Unlike the UK ? Doesn't that say something ! Mind you what effect will#Brexit have on you ?#dontcare#imalrightjack#Tory#letthepoorgetporrer -
You're right, yessir ;) Germany never deserted its manufacturing base, invested in new technologies and made things that people wanted to buy. They now export their way to dominance. But England won the World Cup in 1966, so that'll teach them a lesson.

a British soldier called Ivan Hirst is fully credited with getting VW and German motor manufacturing up and running after WW2. Without him no Beetle.
-
Cool story. So what?

You are also the major power in the EU, cowardly leaving weaker members to deal with Germans on their own. Ironically not the first time in theast century.
