I think the idea that Remainers would have 'respected' a narrow Remain victory & tried to accommodate Leave voters is bollocks. It would have been Cameron's sticking-plaster and then on with 'ever closer union'.

I think you can be sure that they would have treated us as they do now. more importantly and hardly appreciated even now is what the EU might have imposed knowing that we had had our chance to leave and blown it.

Alistair. DC tried to get changes with respect to the concerns the British people had. He failed. TM is trying now, how many times do you need to be told, and see for yourself the evidence that the EU will not budge on anything, even freedom of movement. Are you deaf and dumb?

-
The existing EU treaty already includes a wealth of mechanisms to restrict freedom of movement but successive U.K. governments CHOSE not to impliment them, unlike other European nations like Belgium. The idea that Brexit is the only way to deal with immigration is fantasy.
-
The Liechtenstein solution. I'm aware of this. However UK does still need to seek permission from the EU to instigate, under special circumstances. Threat Brexit obv wasn't enough.

Why is
@Nigel_Farage given so much time promoting his extreme Brexit views when he couldn't even get elected to Parliament in a very pro-leave Constituency? -
Extreme Brexit views? You mean he wants to leave the EU as voted by the majority?

Why wld we be so naive as to swallow a blind brexit. A peoples vote would allow us to scrutinise the deal, after all when was it ever wise to trust politicians, they must convince us surely. Let's take back control, our divided country needs to argue this out

I’d remain had won would that be a mandate for a hard remain where we join the Euro and schengen even though nobody talked about it pre vote?

There is only one way to Remain. There are multiple ways to Leave. No one form of Brexit will satisfy all 17.4 million Leave voters, let alone the rest of us.

All we have to do then, is listen to the reasons why ppl voted remain, while we're leaving, and everyone's happy.
