And we’re all waiting for the righteous indignation.

He comes across as being a tosser, but I must say that I could warm to his idea of crushing Remainers like vermin. Once our Brexit, far right fascist state is up and running, we should really do this. Sounds like fun.

There is evidently a new thing called 'hate crime' - witty mileage I thought. Are we all equal under the law? Apparently not. Came across this - an 'Equality and Diversity' panel in the police force. Thank God I only have a few years to go.pic.twitter.com/25CL8bq9mp

Can you spot the flaw in this cunning plan? Setting a target for increased reporting in hate crime, may help show increased "confidence" in policing, but the stats are also ammunition for anyone wishing to say there is an increase in hate crime.https://twitter.com/Sage_Opinion/status/1052238733058236417?s=19 …

@jeremycorbyn recently tweeted his outrage at the increase in 'hate crime'. Unbelievably, the police take this seriously, and the incidents become increasingly trivial. We will all end up sitting in a dark corner silently trying to remember the punchline.pic.twitter.com/YAto2AsRcg

Comrade Jeremy's use of hate crime stats is an example of the problem I referred to. There are various offences, such as drugs, sexual & hate crime, that can be effected by police activity, media attention etc. Crime is a multifactorial problem that we don't fully understand.
-
Jeremy is using the stats to push a political agenda. I imagine he didn't provide any context or explanation for the factors that can lead to an increase an reported offences. Prior to the financial crash, recorded crime was going down in various countries. Experts said that...
-
... crime would go up in a global recession etc. Crime continued to fall in many countries, leaving "experts" to conjure up theories. In summary, we don't fully understand the complex and changing interconnected, interdependent systems that determine criminal offending.
