An extraordinary public intervention from the civil service. The trouble is, most Leavers simply won’t believe it.https://twitter.com/marksedwill/status/1052060656982249472 …

It would help if public figures such as yourself would support the civil service, instead of continuing to portray them as ‘remainer elites’. Populism is destroying our country.

Robbins has a record of supporting a federalist Europe. If he wanted to maintain the tradition that the Civil Service is apolitical he should not have accepted a job where he would clearly have a bias against implementing Brexit. Nor should May

Yet, it's clear now that the civil service advised the "Irish backstop" - which hands the EU nearly everything they want in the negotiation without UK leverage. Also, they advised no preparation for no deal before art 50 trigger. Hardly Rolls Royce negotiating skills?

Well it begs a question. If, as he says, civil servants will always do their government's bidding, does he mean they, and most particularly #Olly_Robbins, are being instructed to obstruct #Brexit?

I certainly don't. @OllyRobbins has undermined Brexit at every step of the way. I would love to know on whose instruction this was, as it is said he has promised the EU that he can manipulate TM!!
