Oh, what else should M&S sell as an optional item that little girls can wear to show modesty towards adult men so they don’t invite sexual assault? Any other suggestions? @RomeshRangahttps://twitter.com/RomeshRanga/status/1051063140966907904 …

No bigotry, veiled or not. You need to read up on why the hijab is worn and why/when/where the idea of little girls wearing it happened. This headscarf for little girls isn’t about Islam. This is about Islamic fundamentalism and it’s very sinister.

People don’t wear it. Women do. This isn’t about women wearing the hijab. This is about a British high street store endorsing the wearing of the hijab by little girls who are not, under ANY religious text, expected to wear it. Except by fundamentalist extremists.

Try reading my tweets and, even better, try not making up what I’ve said or written. My issue is the hijab worn by GIRLS. As I have stated many times. Do try to keep up.
