IMO, what
@Reverend_Makers have said (several times over) seems quite readily actionable by@JuliaHB1. -
That he thinks her career is based on dog whistle racism? Actionable, how?

What is a “political journalist”? We don’t have “political surgeons”. You’re a pundit. We can predict what you will say on almost any topic. I’m sure it’s a living but it’s hardly a profession. Surely a “low skilled” immigrant could do it?

Essentially her opinion always boils down the predictable:pic.twitter.com/XMOXtheMbw

Political journalism is very different to giving your own political views, however honest, on your own talk show. The problem comes when these two different roles are confused.
-
Indeed. Owen Jones becomes angry when people point out he isn’t a journalist, he writes opinion pieces. Which is perfectly respectable.
-
I think there’s a difference between political journalist and political commentator. IMHO neither Owen or Julia are political journalists
-
Indeed, they write opinion pieces, which is fine. I have been known to read Julia’s - whether I agree with her or not. Owen’s are simply used in the cat litter tray.
-
There are few real journalists left in the 'normal British media. The sort that win Pulitzers for holding powerful people to account. Carol Cadwalladr stands out, as does J J Patrick. John Pilger is still good.

Very much agree

Giving your views isn't being a "journalist"
-
Not even a ‘journalist’; more an armchair pundit with a venomous (usually) comment for all occasions - but precisely no responsibility for ACTUALLY having to DELIVER anything.

You must have absolutely no friends if you’re constantly this obnoxious

"Journalist". Personally, I think Julia is a posh, educated, watered down versions of Hatie Cockpins. That's my opinion.
