Journalists like @JuliaHB1 are complicit in the perpetuation of misinformation. When you have shows like @talkRADIO giving a platform to people who think that drama & ratings are more important than good information and peoples health, then is it news or self serving propaganda?

She was talking to @DrStuartFlint - I say talking. But she was mostly shouting over him and not allowing him to explain what evidence we have or what the harms are. She was just spouting hateful opinions and sterotypes. It was absolutely appalling to listen to.

No I wasn’t. I was simply disagreeing with him. Or don’t you think people should be allowed to put alternative viewpoints?

You didn't allow him time to talk. You shouted over him and ignored the fact that he was presenting evidence - science - not his opinion. Much of what you said was based on ignorance and stereotypes. You can have your opinion, but not all opinions are equal. #evidencenotignorance

He had plenty of time to talk. You just don’t like hearing people with whom you disagree. Nothing to do with ignorance or stereotypes. I was pointing out the perfectly good reasons that people have for discriminating against obese people.

I don't like hearing people with large platforms push discriminatory stereotypes based on ignorance and bias. I don't mind being challenged by data and evidence - that's what science does. What you displayed was a terrible effort at journalism.

Gee whiz. Someone believes they have "perfectly good reasons" to discriminate? I am amazed at those who spend time rationalizing the idea that it's ok to treat others as lesser people, yet think they are on some moral high ground for doing so.

OH MY GOD. Discrimination is definited as "the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex." - you think there are perfectly good reasons to do this?

Discrimination of every kind, against anyone is totally unacceptable. The perpetrator of the psychological damage inflicted by these behaviours, will most likely never know anguish, humiliation and pain they have caused. It dehumanizes, and you think its ok to do this?
