Extraordinary. The fire chief in charge of fighting the Grenfell inferno says she wouldn't change the fire brigade’s response - despite the fact that the deadly cladding meant that the standard “Stay Put” policy needlessly cost dozens of lives that night.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45666960# …

You're blaming the fire service for people dying in a building that wasnt safe for human residence in the first place.

No, fire safety experts giving evidence at the Grenfell Inquiry are blaming fire chiefs for making bad decisions on the night that cost more lives. Or is that too complicated for you?

In a submission that will support the fire brigade’s position that it was not responsible for the failings of the “stay put” policy, Lane stressed it was “a design condition and … not a fire brigade policy” Taken from a Guardian article. She didn't blame the fire chiefs at all

The FB abandoned the stay put policy some hours after the fire took hold. How could they do that if it wasn’t their policy?

It was a building regulation design "policy" of compartmentalisation... nobody in their right mind would expect LFB to predict the scenario that unfolded that night.

The point at which established best practice is visibly costing lives is generally the point where those bound by it, tear up the rulebook. By adapting to the situation, firefighters probably saved lives. It is cynical and opportunistic to suggest they're at fault.

I dont know how this all works im just telling you what the technical expert bought into the inquiry said after you claim the fire safety experts effectively blamed the FB for some deaths. People were killed by unsafe cladding not the response of the firefighters or fire chiefs.

They did it at that point when they realised abandoning the policy was the only way to carry on. I understand the need to find out what happened but everyone knows where the blame lies Anna it's not fire chiefs or the policy.

You really are wilfully stupid woman. The 'stay put' rule was in place as each flat was supposed to be self-contained, not allowing fire to spread. This was breached by cladding that didn't meet fire regs. The deaths were caused by Tory cuts & incompetence, not firefighters.
